Leni Merdawati, S.Kep., M.Kep., Ph.D., is a faculty member at the Faculty of Nursing, Universitas Andalas, Padang, Indonesia. She earned her Ph.D. in nursing from Taipei Medical University, Taiwan, graduating cum laude, and holds a master's degree and nursing profession degree from Universitas Andalas, as well as a nursing diploma from RSUD Bengkulu. With over 20 years of teaching and research experience, Dr. Leni specializes in cancer nursing, palliative care, patient quality of life, and psychosocial issues like stigma and loneliness in cancer patients. She has authored numerous international publications and spoken at global forums, including EAFONS (Japan & Taiwan), the International Conference on Palliative Care (France), and cancer conferences in Indonesia. Dr. Leni is also focused on developing cancer patient navigation programs in Indonesia, improving access to healthcare for breast cancer patients with attention to psychosocial needs. She is also an international journal reviewer and a member of organizations such as the Oncology Nurse Society Korea, the Asian Pacific Hospice Nurses, and the Indonesian Oncology Nurses Association (HIMPONI). Her involvement in education, research, and community empowerment has made her a key figure in transforming oncology nursing practice in Indonesia.
