I began my academic career in 2006 at the Faculty of Public Health, Andalas University, Indonesia. My research interests include epidemiology, global health, evidence-based public health policy, healthcare utilization, social determinants of health, and broader public health issues. I hold a PhD in Community Health (2016) from the National University of Malaysia and the United Nations University–International Institute for Global Health. I have contributed to epidemiological studies, providing scientific evidence for COVID-19 control policies in West Sumatera Province, Indonesia. In 2020, I join Andalas University team and University of Huddersfield on a Newton Fund–British Council project, Embedding COVID-19 Preparedness into Local Disaster Risk Reduction in Padang, which informed the city’s five-year disaster risk reduction plan. Since 2019, I have also been involved in national capacity-building initiatives as a district health planning consultant for a project led by the Indonesian Ministry of Health.
