MICKO TOMAS S.T, M.T.

I am Micko Tomas, ST., MT., a lecturer and researcher at the Department of Electrical Engineering, Universitas Andalas (UNAND), Indonesia, specializing in Industrial Internet of Things (IIoT)-based Automation Systems, Smart Aquaculture, and Intelligent Energy Solutions. My research focuses on the design, development, and evaluation of IIoT-enabled automation platforms that integrate embedded systems, wireless sensor networks, cloud computing, and advanced control strategies. In addition to research, I am actively involved in teaching and curriculum development for courses such as Signals & Systems, Internet of Things (IoT), Engineering Mathematics, Programmable Logic Controllers (PLC), and Cloud Computing (PaaS) for Enterprise. My teaching philosophy emphasizes research-driven learning with industrial relevance, fully aligned with Outcome-Based Education (OBE), KKNI, and IABEE accreditation standards. I am passionate about bridging academic innovation and industrial application, with the mission of delivering sustainable, scalable, and impactful IIoT solutions that empower industries and communities.
